School in France

Bonjour!

Today was my first day at school in france and it went surprisingly well. Classes are very casual; you basically go in and out as you please and there can be 3 hour breaks between each class. I have been here since 8.00 this morning but have only had science and french literature! tomorrow there is no school at all! it is great.

I have made some friends. There is another exchange student, from mexico, who is very nice, and her friends are all wonderful. Haha and they tell me that I look like scarlett johannson, that i have a great dress sense, and that i am beautiful. I have never been more complimented in my entire life!

The cafeteria was a new experience. French kids eat so much!! I had a salad and half a crepe, while they piled their plates up with 3 courses and bread and cheese! They kept asking me why I wasnt eating, as if a serve as small as mine was just bizarre. Eventually I explained to them that "En Australie nous mangeons un peu" which means in Australia we eat a little at lunch.

Anyways, goodbye and I hope you enjoyed your Australia Day!

Love Jess

PS. It started snowing today!!! Everyone was moaning about it but I think its fantastic :) There were snowflakes in my hair. If it keeps snowing, we dont have to go to school, so fingers crossed.

  1. Hahahaha It sounds so similar to my experience except French schools sound very different to Italian schools. Here we go to school from 8 to 1 and we eat luch at home every day but at the beginning i could barely finish a bowl of pasta, let alone servings of meat, cheese, fruit and cake after! But now after five months I'm sad to say i eat just as much as them! Anyway I hope you are having a fantastic time, keep in touch via myspace or facebook. Love Taylor xxxx
